Emerald

Mina Peñas Blancas, San Pablo de Borbur, Boyacá, Colombia.

Very curious piece compounded of emerald crystals aggregate that creates a matrix in itself with some areas of calcite and remaining oxides. Most of the emerald prisms have pinacoidal termination face and show translucency. This is a matrix form that belongs to Peñas Blancas deposit and breaks the rule with the habits we usually see in the Colombian emeralds.
